Work From Anywhere: How I’m Building Income to Support My Life Abroad

Over the years, I’ve noticed something interesting.

When people start thinking about moving abroad, they focus heavily on where they’re going.

But one of the most important questions is often left unclear:

👉🏾 How will I actually sustain my life once I get there?

Because let’s be honest, moving abroad isn’t just about the destination. It’s about building a life that is both fulfilling and financially sustainable.

And that’s exactly what I’ve been intentionally working on.

So I want to pull back the curtain a bit and share:

  • What work from anywhere really looks like

  • What I’m doing right now that is already generating income

  • And how I’m building toward long-term, sustainable income abroad

What Work From Anywhere Actually Means

Work from anywhere has become one of those phrases that sounds amazing but is not always clearly defined.

At its core, it simply means:

🌍 Your income is not tied to a specific physical location.

That can look like:

  • Remote employment with a company

  • Freelancing or consulting

  • Teaching or tutoring online

  • Running your own business

But here’s what I want to emphasize:

✨ Not all work from anywhere income is created equal.

Some options are:

✔️ Immediate and accessible

✔️ Lower barrier to entry

Others are:

✔️ More flexible

✔️ More scalable

✔️ More aligned with your long-term vision

And ideally, you are building toward something that gives you both freedom and sustainability.

What I’m Using Right Now to Create Income: Preply

Let’s start with what’s working for me right now.

One of the platforms I’m currently using is Preply, an online tutoring platform where you can teach subjects like English and more to students around the world.

And I want to be very clear about this:

✨ This is not theory. This is something that has actually resulted in cash.

It has been a way for me to:

  • Start generating income quickly

  • Work from anywhere

  • Build flexibility into my schedule

And for many people, especially those just getting started, this is a great entry point.

You do not need:

  • A full business built out

  • A large audience

  • Or a complex system

You need:

✔️ A skill you can teach

✔️ Consistency

✔️ Willingness to start

Now, is this the end goal for me? No.

But it is part of the strategy.

👉🏾 It is helping me build a buffer.

Building a Financial Buffer

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is waiting until everything is perfectly aligned before they start.

But what I’ve found is:

👉🏾 You can start building your financial foundation while you are building your long-term vision.

For me, that looks like:

  • Creating income through platforms like Preply

  • Being intentional about saving and allocating those funds

  • Using that income to support flexibility and decision making

Because having a buffer gives you:

✔️ Breathing room

✔️ Confidence

✔️ Options

And when you are planning a move abroad, that matters.

How I’m Sustaining Income Long-Term

While Preply is part of my current strategy, it is not the full picture.

My long-term income is rooted in the work I’ve been building over time.

1. Strengths-Based Consulting

Through my work in leadership development and coaching, I support individuals and organizations in:

  • Leveraging their strengths

  • Leading more effectively

  • Building inclusive, high-performing environments

This work is:

✔️ Location independent

✔️ Relationship driven

✔️ Scalable over time

2. Teaching Others How to Live Their Best Life Abroad

This is where Best Life Abroad comes in.

I am building:

  • Global Travel Treks

  • Workshops & Clarity Calls

  • Content such as YouTube, a podcast, and blogs

  • Community spaces

All centered around helping people:

🌍 Move abroad with intention

🌍 Make aligned decisions

🌍 Build lives that actually feel good once they get there

And this is important to me because:

👉🏾 I do not just want to move abroad. I also want to help others do it well!

The Bigger Picture

If you take anything from this, let it be this:

👉🏾 You do not need one perfect income stream before you move abroad.

You need:

✔️ A starting point

✔️ A plan

✔️ And a pathway to sustainability

For me, that looks like:

  • Starting with accessible income like Preply and other virtual platforms

  • Building a financial buffer

  • Expanding into aligned, long-term work

And allowing those pieces to work together.

There is a version of this journey where you wait.

And there is a version where you start building now with what you have.

I am choosing to build.

And if you are in that space where you are trying to figure out:

  • How to fund your life abroad

  • What your options are

  • And what makes sense for you

That is exactly how I can support you. And feel free to explore more resources through Best Life Abroad.

Because creating the life you want - anywhere - is possible.
